A global manufacturer of luxury goods wanted to create a better overview of the purchases of POS materials (Point of Sale), while optimizing the delivery times of these promotional materials to the stores. However, the existing setup proved to be ineffective – with lead times of up to 11 months and a restriction of stores being able to only order new materials four times a year. Therefore, the company asked Prokura to create the factual basis for evaluating a number of alternative supply chain setups.
In just 5 weeks, we analyzed the current setup in detail and generated 5 potential scenarios that would lead to optimized delivery times and costs. The 5 solutions were modelled and tested based on several relevant parameters to select the solution best suited to the client.
As a result of the project, a decision was made on an alternative setup which would reduce the delivery time by 244 days for standard products and 74 days for campaign elements. The increase in costs for such a significant reduction was only 1%.
Prokura also assisted in the initial phase of implementing the new setup which ensured that the improvements could be realized within the planned timeframe.
